For Independent Brussels 2018, curated by Vincent Honoré, Diogo Passarinho Studio and Alexine Sammut created a scenography to host an immersive program of performance, installations, music, and discussions.
The design transformed the main court of the historic Vanderborght building into a flexible gathering space. A striking metallic stripe serves as both light shaft and central spine, while curtains create adaptable zones for performances and talks. Multiples of sculptural objects—playful forms in colour and shape—connect the floors visually, blending art and function throughout the space.
The project reimagines the art fair as a performative festival, inviting unexpected encounters and collective experiences in a historic setting.
